Khukhadi is the most expensive seasonal vegetable sold during the rainy season. What makes it unique is, In India it is sold only in two states- Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh having different names. Khukhadi provides high protein nourishment. The price of Khukhadi is 1200 Rs. per Kg. This protein-rich vegetable is found and sold in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. In Chhattisgarh, it is known as Khukdi and in Jharkhand it is called Rueda. Both are a species of mushroom, which is found in the forest. It is said that this vegetable has to be cooked within two days, otherwise it gets spoiled. In the forest of Korba district adjoining Udaipur, including Balrampur, Surajpur, Surguja, Chhattisgarh, a natural dryness occurs during the rainy day. It is sold in the month of Sawan only.
